The winery began in 2012 with Marc-André Roy and Jared Etzel who continue in their fathers' footsteps who partnered to establish Beaux Freres Winery in 1991. The winery focuses on wine from two estate vineyards in the Dundee Hills and Carlton under the Domaine Roy et Fils label, and wines from non-estate fruit is labeled Maison Roy et Fils.
The Dundee Estate Vineyard and Winery was the site of a former hazelnut orchard planted in 2013 to 13 acres of high density Pinot Noir and 2 acres of Chardonnay, all farmed organically. The vineyard is on a south-facing hillside at elevations of 400 to 600 feet with volcanic soil embedded with basalt rock.
The Carlton Estate Vineyard is surrounded by an oak savannah. 20 acres of Pinot Noir and 2 acres of Chardonnay are planted and organically farmed. Elevation is 360 to 550 feet with south and east exposures with marine sedimentary soils speckled with crystalline quartz.
The inaugural vintage from the Dundee Estate will be 2015. The wine will be allocated based on mailing list seniority and previous support of Maison Roy et Fils wines. The inaugural vintage from the Carlton Estate will be 2016 and the same allocation applies.

Carlton AVA and La Collina, Stoller and Kelly in the Dundee Hills AVA). Unfined and unfiltered.

Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Shy aromas of dark cherry, blackberry and rose petal
lead off. Plush and husky in the mouth, with plenty of black raspberry, blackberry and cassis flavors
in a mid weight plus style. Still a bit tight and moody, but offering good balance and a sweet
blackberry finish. When tasted the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle, the
nose was still shy, and the husky tannins remained evident. This wine should evolve with more time in bottle.
