Winemaker Steve Clifton and spouse Chrystal Clifton launched this solo project that offers vineyard-designated Pinot Noirs and a Pinot Noir Rosé from Sta. Rita Hills. Clifton has made wine for over 25 years in Washington State, Argentina, and in California under the Brewer-Clifton (sold in early 2015 to outside investors) and Palmina (Italian varietals) labels.
Clifton has a successful career in the music industry before wine. His first job was in the tasting room at Rancho Sisquoc and later became assistant winemaker there. Over the next few years he managed retail sales at The Wine Cask in Santa Barbara and held winemaking positions at Beckman, Brander and Domaine Santa Barbara.
Chrystal (Seals) Clifton is also a winemaker and owner in this project as well as being involved in the Palmina label. She crafts the Rosé of Pinot Noir titled "She's Crafty."
Sarah Berger hand paints the artwork for the labels. All the wines are inspired by music and carry music-themed names.
The small production wines are highly allocated through a mailing list.

fermentation, 28 days on the skins including extended maceration, aged 12 months in most neutral oak barrels
(10% new).

Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Both savory and fruity on the nose, with aromas of
cherry, violet, herbs, toast and floral uplift. The flavors of black raspberry and blackberry are overlain with a
generous halo of oak. Otherwise the wine is nicely composed with a silky mouthfeel, a subtle floral undertone,
and a slightly tart finish.
