The vineyard is located at 1800 feet elevation on Lone Tree Ridge overlooking the small town of Boonville in the Anderson Valley. 6 acres were originally planted in 1992 in Goldridge loamy soils to Pommard clone, the property has been farmed (95% dry farmed) and managed by Josh Chandler.
The 2013 Roma's Vineyard Pinot Noir made its debut at the 2015 WineSong event.
2013 Roma’s Vineyard Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
14.0% alc., pH 3.92, TA 0.64, $N/A. Vineyard is located at 1,800 feet elevation on Lone Tree Ridge in Boonville and planted in 1992. Harvest yield 1.8 tons per acre. Winemaker Dean Carrell. 33% whole cluster added to bottom of fermentation bins. 15% of juice drained from bottom of bin to concentrate the must. 14-day post fermentation maceration. Basket pressed into French oak barrels and aged on the lees for 18 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. · Moderate ruby red color in the glass. Comforting in all aspects, with aromas of cherry, rose, brioche and a hint of oak. Nicely balanced, but a bit shallow and flat, featuring an array of red fruits in a middleweight style. Score: 88. 14.0% alc., 115 cases, $49. Dry farmedvineyard at 1,850 feet overlooking Boonville. Goldridge loam soils. Pommard clone. Aged 18 months in French oak barrels. Unfiltered. · Light cherry red color in the glass. Nicely composed aromatic profile featuring cherry, cranberry, rose petal and wooded path. Light to mid weight in style, and powerfully flavored with a lovely blend of cherry and spice, this wine is elegantly fashioned, nicely balanced, clean and long in the mouth. 2012 Roma’s Vineyard Ridge Top Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
14.0% alc., 125 cases, $49. Aged 15 months in French oak barrels and bottled unfiltered. · Light cherry red color in the glass. Lovely aromas of black cherry, baking spices, wilted rose and sandalwood.
