Kristin and Devin Andolsen named their vineyard and winery as a merging of their two families. Devin's father, a physician, treated a number of vintners in the Dry Creek Valley of California and the family had a small vineyard planted to Cabernet and Zinfandel. Devin decided to forego a career in banking and enter the wine industry, eventually becoming a respected sommelier.

The family had roots in Oregon. The couple left Dry Creek Valley for the Willamette Valley in 2014 and found 20 acres of prime vineyard land on Laurelwood soil in the Chehalem Mountains. Here they planted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in 2014, followed by another block a year later.
