A small family owned and operated vineyard and winery located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Marshall Davis was founded in 2011 by brothers Sean Davis, Ryan Marshall and Matt Marshall.
Estate fruit is supplemented with grapes from vineyards in the Willamette and Columbia valleys. The estate vineyard consists of 6 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines at 450 feet elevation.
The wines are available to restaurants, specialty retail and through the owners' wine pub, The Horse Radish Restaurant and Wine Bar, in Carlton, Oregon. The tasting room at The Horse Radish Restaurant and Wine Bar is open daily.
2018 Marshall Davis Estate Yamhill-Carlton Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
13.8% alc., 200 cases, $38. Dijon 777, 114, Pommard and Mariafeld clones. Aged 14 months in 25% new French oak. Dijon 114, 777 and Pommard clones. 60% whole cluster. · Moderately light garnet color. Aromas of black cherry, spice and dark rose petal with similar flavors adding blueberry. Picks up interest and appeal over time in the glass, with solid harmony and a bright cherry-driven finish. 2018 Marshall Davis Estate Vineyard Cask Series Yamhill-Carlton Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
13.8% alc., 175 cases, $45. Clones 114, 777 and Pommard. 60% whole cluster. Aged in a single 15HL French oak tank. · Moderately light garnet color. Seductive aromas of cherry, baking spice, tilled earth and rose petal. Very interesting, with mid-weight flavors of black cherry boysenberry and hints of burnt tobacco, exotic spice, sandalwood and savory herbs that carry over to a highly aromatic finish. 2017 Marshall Davis Yamhill-Carlton Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Rosé
13.0% alc., pH 3.64, TA 0.56, RS 4.9 g/L, 100 cases, $23, screw cap. Clone 114 from Marshall Davis Estate Vineyard. · Light pink color in the glass. A bit shy with aromas of white stone fruits, red berries, stem and bruised apple. Flavors of strawberry, raspberry, cranberry and spice. Medium bodied with noticeable sweetness on the juicy finish.
