Harmonique Partners Bruce Conzelman and winemaker Robert Klindt (former owner of Claudia Springs Winery) produce three Pinot Noirs from Anderson Valley Vineyards. The grapes are sourced from the former Christine Woods Vineyard (now Conzelman Vineyard) across the street from Handley Cellars where the Harmonique wines are produced, and the Klindt Vineyard.
The Pinot Noirs have been exceptional and have made my All-American list several times. The Pinot Noirs are named The Noble One, Delicacé and Elegancé.
Bruce's affable wife Moira handles all of the marketing for the winery. The wines are sold primarily through a mailing list.
The Harmonique Tasting Room is in the former Londer Tasting room in Boonville in the John Hanes Fine Art Gallery at 14051 Highway 128 (Friday to Monday 11-5).

blend of fruit from Conzelman, Ferrington, Klindt and Wiley vineyards. Clones are primarily Pommard and
Wädenswil.

Moderately light reddish-purple color in the glass. Nicely perfumed with aromas of cherries,
baking spice, sandalwood and a new Prada leather coat. Mid weight flavors of cherries and savory herbs.
Juicy, with mild tannins and crisp acidity. Seemingly quite fresh albeit six years old. Very good.

2007 Harmonique The Noble One Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

alc., pH 3.70, TA 0.59, 434 cases, $39. The core of this wine came from
vineyards in the “deep end” of the Anderson Valley including Klindt
Vineyard (115, 777 and Pommard) and Wiley Vineyard (115 and
Pommard).

Medium reddish-purple color in the glass. Brooding aromas
of black cherries, dark berries and briar initially. Over time the nose
opens up considerably to a deep black cherry perfume. The biggest (but
not big) of the three Harmonique wines with the most tannic backbone, but also
the most satisfying. Beautifully balanced with intense dark stone and berry fruit
flavors that make an impression on the mid palate, finishing with one of those
peacock tail endings that Pinot Noir is famous for. Fresh as a daisy. All the Harmonique Pinot Noirs are well
crafted and notable, but this one emotes.

13.4% alc., 165 cases, $39. Grapes are from
the 24-year-old vines at Conzelman Vineyard. Clone is believed to be Wente. Yields less than 1.5 tons per
acre. Fermented in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak for 8 months, then bottled and aged for 3
months before release. Inaugural vintage of this wine. Winemaker was Robert Klindt.

Citrus, butter and
of tropical fruits on the nose. Great purity of citrus fruits with a hint of pear. Brisk acidity and a refreshing finish.

Wädenswil clone from Ferrington Vineyard, 777 from Klindt Vineyard and Pommard from Conzelman Vineyard.

Moderately light reddish-purple color in the glass. Not as aromatic as the Elegancé, but offering a pleasant
array of darker red cherry and berry aromas. A step up in intensity with a hearty core of black cherry fruit
complimented by a savory, spicy, chocolaty edge. Very soft in the mouth with a noticeably long finish that
sports a bright cut of acidity. Very good.

Moderately light garnet color in the glass. Welcoming scents of cranberry,
strawberry, spice and herbs. Very elegant and light on the palate with a
flavorful core of cherry, rhubarb and pomegranate. This wine has aged
beautifully and its character definitely fits the name.
Score: 90.

2007 Harmonique Delicacé Anderson Valley Chardonnay

cases, $59. Grapes sourced from the 24-year-old vines at Conzelman Vineyard.
Clone is believed to be Wente. Yields less than 1.5 tons per acre. Whole cluster
pressed, fermented in a combination of new French oak, neutral oak and
stainless steel barrels. After blending of separate lots, the wine was aged for 8
months, and then bottle aged for an additional 4 months before release.

Straw
colored. Aromas of citrus, banana and oak toast. Subdued but pleasing white
stone fruit flavors with a sidecar of caramel from oak. More richness and
fullness on the palate than the un-oaked version but not overblown. I mixed this
Chardonnay with the Harmonique un-oaked version and felt this produced an
even more complete Chardonnay.

and 12.5% from the Klindt Vineyard. Seven Pinot Noir clones.

Moderate reddish-purple color and clear in the
glass. Very enticing perfume of black cherries, cola and sandalwood. Discreet and elegant array of flavors
including black cherries and sassafras with juicy cherry skins dancing on the finish. Polished tannins and nervy
acidity allow for hi-collar drinking. Perfect now. Very good.

Very light in weight, featuring red cherry and
berry flavors with underpinnings of oak and savory herbs. Fruit has faded and is swallowed up by tannin. I
have had this wine before and do not believe this was a representative bottle. Withhold judgment.

the spring 2010. 7 clones from four vineyards in the Anderson Valley. Aged 17 months in 50% new and 50%
seasoned French oak barrels.

Moderately light reddish-purple color. Delicate aromas of cherries and rose
petals. The name personifies this wine of finesse offering demure and lacy cherry and strawberry flavors with
a nice touch of spice and vanilla. The tannins are supple and a bright tug of acidity lifts the finish. Very good.

cases, $49.50. Inaugural vintage for this bottling. Harvested at 24.3º Brix.
Sourced in small part from the Day Ranch Vineyard but primarily the Conzelman
(formerly Rose Family) Vineyard. The Old Block (24 years old) of the
Conzelman Vineyard consists of 4 acres of cordon pruned Martini clone. Yields
were less than 2 tons per acre.

Darkest in color of the three 2005 Pinot Noirs.
Hi-tone aromas of plums, raisins, sage and a hint of oak. Rich and ripe flavored
dark fruits with notes of raisin, anise and Snicker’s bar, supple tannins, a silky
and smooth texture, and a bright finish flush with tangerine peel. The oak is
nicely integrated and the brisk acidity makes you reach for another sip.

black fruits on the nose with an appealing hint of minerality, cola and herbs.
Similar to Elegancé but not as ripely flavored. Well-perfumed dark fruit on
the palate with a good bit of animale and earthiness. Impeccable harmony.

2005 Harmonique Delicacé Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

cases, $55. The grapes for this bottling in 2002-2004 came from primarily the
Wiley Vineyard. In 2005 a frost event led to a loss of all the crop and grapes
were then sourced from Ferrington Vineyard (Wädenswil clone) and Klindt
Vineyard. I was really charmed by the 2002-2004 vintages of this wine and
prefer them over this vintage. Harvested at 25.2º Brix.

Lightest in color of the
2005 Pinot Noirs. When you smell this wine, you want to dive in. Aromas of red
berry tart, violets, musk and Moroccan spice. A delicate red fruit core with a hint
of mocha and spice, noticeable dry tannins and a dry finish. The oak is
commanding. The nose trumps the flavors in this wine.
