The proprietor and winemaker for BÖEN is Joseph Wagner. "BÖEN" is a translation of "The Farm," emphasizing that winemaker Joseph Wagner is first and foremost a farmer. The winery focuses solely on California appellation Pinot Noirs from Russian River Valley, Santa Maria Valley and Santa Lucia Highlands, all priced at $31 SRP and found discounted at many wine retailers.
Wagner is a fifth-generation Napa Valley winemaker, who worked as a young man alongside his father at Caymus Vineyards. In 2001, he founded Belle Glos, later started the highly popular Meiomi label that he subsequently sold, and more recently in 2016 launched a number of new brands, including BÖEN, under Copper Cane Wines & Provisions.
The wines are available on the winery's website and in wide national distribution.
