This label is led by the father-and-son winemaking team of Chuck and Matt Ortman (Chuck Ortman was the long time winemaker at Meridian). Located in the San Luis Obispo Appellation, they source Pinot Noir from Fiddlestix Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills and the Willamette Valley.
Chuck Ortman began his winemaking career in the Napa Valley in the late 1960s and is regarded as a California winemaking legend. He was one of California's first winemakers to demonstrate the benefits of barrel fermenting Chardonnay, and his success with the varietal led to the title, "Mr. Chardonnay." Chuck later founded Meridian Vineyards in Paso Robles. Ortman Family Vineyards was launched in 2001.
The winery developed financial hardship and closed in 2011.
