2010 Clos Tita Estate Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
14.5% alc., pH 3.9, TA 0.6, <100 cases, $36. Clones 15, 777, 113 and 114. 15% whole cluster. Aged 23 months in 50% new French oak barrels. · This wine was a stand out among all those tasted at the Grand Cruz Tasting. Amazing dark fruit purity that attacks the mid palate with a vengeance, coats every nook and cranny in the mouth, and leaves a lasting impression. Still sporting muscular tannins and will benefit from more bottle age, but this is a knock out, especially at this modest price. Exceptional. Reviewed April 13, 2013 ARTICLE »
2005 Clos Tita Cuvée Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
14.5% alc., $30. Sourced from Clos Tita and Branciforte Ridge vineyards. · Well-endowed reddish-purple robe. Deep, darker fruits on the nose with hints of pepper, cardamon and raisin. Ripe dark stone fruits, especially black cherry, highlighted by black truffle. Beautifully composed and balanced with gossamer tannins and a very smooth and silky texture. Hard not to like this Pinot. Reviewed March 15, 2009 ARTICLE »
2004 Clos Tita Santa Cruz Mountains Cuvee Pinot Noir
14.5% alc.. · Aromas and flavors of warm cherry cobbler, cranberry and cassis. The mouth feel is soft and gentle and the wine goes down easy, ending in dusty oak tannins. Reviewed April 1, 2007 ARTICLE »
2004 Clos Tita Estate Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
15.6% alc., $37. A touch of Chardonnay and Viognier from the estate vineyard is included in this wine. · This is a vin de guard wine for the mountains. Complex and rich aromas of cherries, soy and some savage lead to a deep dark cherry and cassis palate with appealing pepper flavors and earthy overtones. Even at this high alcohol, there is enough fruit and tannin for balance. Needs an essay. Reviewed April 1, 2007 ARTICLE »
2003 Clos Tita Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
14.0% alc.. · Very attractive scents of bright red cherry, sawdust and cinnamon spice. Delicious cherry core with cranberry, raspberry, and earthy notes. Still has some tannins on a moderately lengthy finish and needs food to blunt the tannins. Reviewed March 17, 2008 ARTICLE »
