Hood Wines in Southern Tasmnia features Wellington & Frogmore Creek Vineyard
Andrew Hood is the man who has made more Tasmanian wine than anyone else, not necessarily in volume but certainly in number. Many small growers own a mere acre or two and seek Hood’s help to turn their precious berries into wine – award-winning wine. The story goes that at the annual Tasmanian Wine Show, although the prizes may go to individual producers, it’s Hood who makes most of the winning wines. His own label is Wellington, but a recent alignment with the organic Frogmore Creek has merged the making and marketing of the two, in addition to the value-for-money Roaring 40s label.
