A label produced under the Vavasour Wines Ltd. umbrella. Vavasour is located in the Awatere Valley of Marlborough in the South Island of New Zealand. This label first appeared in 1989 and is a blend of fruit from the Wairau and Awatere Valleys. Imported by Pasternak Wine Imports, Harrison, NY. The Dashwood Pinot Noir is a very good value-priced wine that is a perfect daily drinker.
In August, 2009, William Foley, the owner of several well-known California brands, purchased the New Zealand Wine Trust and in the process acquired six Kiwi wine brands - Vavasour, Goldwater, Clifford Bay, Boatshed Bay, Dashwood and Redwood Pass - and 247 acres of vines.

reddish-purple hue in the glass. Fresh aromas of dried red fruits and herbs.
Light and simple redder fruits are featured with cherry-red candy flavor
prominent. Bright with gossamer tannins making for easy drinkability. Decent.

Produced by Vavasour Wines Ltd, Awatera Valley. This label first appeared in
1989. A blend of fruit from the Wairau and Awatere Valleys. Long-standing
winemaker is Glenn Thomas, who joined Vavsour in 1988. Made in an earlier
drinking style than the wines bearing the Vavasour label. Imported by Pasternak
Wine Imports, Harrison, NY.

The aromatics are really attractive featuring red
cherries, herbs, oak and a hint of cinnamon. The flavors echo the aromas. Juicy, light on
its feet, with polished tannins and perky acidity on the somewhat lengthy finish. A very good daily drinker and
an exceptional value.
