The Tenbrink family farms 50 acres of vineyards in Suisin Valley, California which is located east of Napa Valley and just west of Sacramento and the San Joaquin delta wetlands. The Tenbrinks also grow walnuts, fruits, and tomatoes.
The Tenbrinks have become most famous for the Petite Sirah they sold to winemaker Abe Schoener who produced a wine under his Scholium Project label called Babylon. Schoener has now become the winemaker for Tenbrink Vineyards who released their first wines in 2006. Steve Tenbrink is his future successor. A winery was built in 2007 to house Scholium Project, Maldonado Family Vineyards, and Courier Wines
The Tenbrink Pinot Noir is grown on a 4-acre vineyard adjacent to the winery. Look for retail sources ($35).
