Founded in 1993 by Doug and Jo Ann Fries. One of Oregon's largest family-owned and operated wineries. The family owns multiple vineyards throughout the Willamette alley including St. Jory Vineyard, Hylo Vineyard, Delaney Vineyard, Willow Creek Vineyard, and the Estate Vineyard surrounding the Duck Pond winery in Dundee. The acquisition of vineyard land in the Umpqua Valley will increase their total Oregon vineyard holdings to 518 acres. Additional acreage is located in Washington where the Fries family owns Desert Wind Winery, a 540-acre operation on the warm Wahluke Slope north of the Yakima Valley which includes a tasting room, restaurant, and bed and breakfast.
Winemaker Mark Chargin was replaced by Napa winemaker Trevor Chlanda in mid 2016. Trevor was previously assistant director of winemaking at Bin to Bottle, a custom crush facility in Napa. He also worked at Williams Selyem Winery.
Current production is 65,000 cases annually. The wines are distributed throughout the United States and are sold on the web site. The tasting room, located on Highway 99W between the towns of Dundee and Newberg, is open daily 11:00 to 5:00. 1-800-437-3213.
