The name of this family operated vineyard and winery is derived from the name of the winery's owners, native Oregonians, Carl and Lores Dauenhauer. The first vines were planted in Dayton, Oregon in 1980 and the vineyard now consists of 110 acres planted to 7 different varieties. Most of the vineyard production is sold to wineries across the state. In 1999, a small amount of wine was made under the Hauer of the Dauen label and today consists of about 4,000 cases per year. An expensive Pinot Noir and a Pinot Noir dessert wine are offered among other varietals.
The tasting room at 16425 SE Webfoot Rd, Dayton, OR, is open weekends and Thanksgiving weekend. 503-868-7359.
