John "J" Albin is the Director of Viticulture and Winemaking at King Estate Winery where he manages 465 acres of vineyards and the production of over 100,000 cases of wine. The J. Albin label is his personal project sourced from his own 11-acre Laurel Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains appellation planted in 1981, making it one of Oregon's oldest Pinot Noir vineyards. The vineyard is planted in Laurelwood soil to Pommard, Coury and Dijon 113, 114 clone. Production is about 500 cases of Pinot Noir a year. Wine is also produced under the Lorelle label.
The wines are sold through the retail marketplace.
