Dave Masciorini bought Namasté Vineyards in Dallas, Oregon, in 2002 (previously it was named Van Well Vineyard), although he hailed from Northern California and knew little about Oregon wine. The 34 acres of vines had been planted from 1980 to 1983.
Masciorini hired vineyard consultant Jim Huggins of Eola Hills to bring the vineyard up to speed and hired a winemaker, Andreas Wetzel of Chateau Bianca Winery, a nearby neighbor. Varietals produced include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Gewürztraminer. Grapes are also sourced from the Walla Walla region of Washington.
A large tasting room on the estate is open daily at 5600 Van Well Road in Dallas. The wines are also sold through the website. Future plans call for an aging cave and winery.
