2005 Domaine Fourrier Les Goulots 1er Cru Gevrey-Chambertin

This wine has the biggest and most striking nose of any wine in the tasting. Extraordinarily intense ripe dark fruits accented by white pepper and minerals. Less tannin than the 2006 vintage and although showing glimpses of charm, it is currently monolithic and impossible. This will be a prodigious wine in ten to fifteen years. Reviewed April 8, 2010
