2010 Westerly Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

14.4% alc., 304 cases, $45. Clones 777 and 667. Aged 12 months in a combination of new and 2-year-old French oak barrels. Winemaker Adam Henkel. · Moderately dark reddish-purple color in the glass. Very fragrant with aromas of black cherries, black raspberries and red currants. Vivid cherry core that is well spiced and juicy, discreetly concentrated with balanced tannins and a fruit-driven finish. This is an enjoyable wine that delivers more than the price would suggest, and leaves behind a pleasant impression. Very good. Reviewed June 23, 2013
