14.0% alc., H 3.79, TA 0.54, 1,000 cases, $70. Reuling clone ‘L’ 50% whole cluster, Calera and Rueling Clone ‘R’ 100% de-stemmed. 3 clones fermented separately. Native yeasts, 5-day cold soak, 16 day fermentation. Aged in 45% new and 55% used French oak. · Moderately dark reddish purple hue in the glass. Aromas of oak-kissed black cherry, blackberry and Asian 5-spice. Mid to full-bodied flavors of black cherry, black raspberry, cassis and spice. A big wine with a generous backbone of tannin, yet still juicy and enticing with an intense fruit-driven finish. A serious wine with long term expectations. Score: 92. Reviewed May 15, 2014
