2012 Maison L’Envoyé Two Messengers Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

13.6% alc., $36. Name translates as “House of the Envoy.” 100% de-stemmed, fermented whole berry, aged in 20% new French oak. · Moderately light reddish purple color in the glass. The juicy core of fresh black cherry, plum and cola flavors is overshadowed by a prominent oak sheen most evident on the nose. The tannins are balanced, the acidity is uplifting, and the wine tries to please. Score: 87. Reviewed July 6, 2014
