2012 Gary Farrell Rochioli Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

13.6% alc., pH 3.52, TA 0.66, 323 cases, $70. Release September 2014. 5 to 7-day cold soak, 10 to15-day maceration postfermentation. Aged 14 months in 40% new French oak barrels on primary lees. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. A classy wine with high brow aromas of Bing cherries, spice and seasoned oak. Very polished in the mouth, with a charge of Bing cherry and black raspberry fruit that is fresh and alive all the way through the remarkably long finish. Very charming and sophisticated, with the harmony to age beautifully. Score: 93. Reviewed July 19, 2014
