2011 Furthermore Weir Vineyard Yorkville Highlands Pinot Noir

14.0% alc., 65 cases, $50. A blend of Wädenswil clone and a Romanee-Conti selection. · Moderately light reddish purple color in the glass. A heavy tug of oak dominates the nose which offers demure aromas of black cherry and dark berry jam. More interesting on the palate with less undertow of oak, offering flavors of boysenberry and purple grapes. Rather closed and reticent, and even a bit shallow, tasting primarily of unadorned grape juice. Worth revisiting in a year or so. Score: 88. Reviewed November 19, 2014
