2012 Brewer-Clifton 459 Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., $90. · Moderately light reddish purple color in the glass. The scent of rose, spice, raspberry and cherry is appealing but the wine is a bit linear and disjointed on the palate. The mid weight black cherry, blackberry and dark chocolate brooding flavors are framed by leathery tannins and their is a sense of alcohol warmth on the finish. Score: 88-89. Reviewed April 4, 2015
