2012 Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

14.5% alc., pH 3.89, TA 0.51, 14,500 cases, $55. A blend of grapes from the four estate vineyards (19 clones) and independent growers. Harvest Brix 25.0ยบ. Aged 16 months in 70% new French oak barrels. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Rich aromas of black raspberry, black current and blackberry fruits with a hint of oak in the background. Mid weight flavors echo the nose with added notes of brown spice, mocha and molasses. The oak adjunct is nicely fashioned but more prominent than in the other 2012 Pinot Noirs. The wine has good harmony, and finishes with an inviting combination of fruit and cut. Score: 90. Reviewed July 12, 2015
