The nose picks up interest over time in the glass, displaying hi-tone aromas of fresh strawberry, cherry, allspice, burnt tobacco and bramble. 2015 Siduri Muirfield Vineyard Willamette Valley Oregon Pinot Noir 14.4% alc., 291 cases, $50, screwcap. Released April 2017. Vineyard planted in 1991. Ungrafted and non-irrigated vines. · Moderately light garnet color in the glass. Intriguing aromas of muddled black cherry and loamy earth. Rather bold, but refined, in a mid weight plus style with highly flavorful notes of earthy plum and black raspberry back by immersed tannins. A satiny texture and persistent finish add to the appeal. 2014 Siduri Chehalem Mountains Oregon Pinot Noir 14.2% alc., pH 3.53, TA 0.62, 852 cases, $35, screwcap. Released October 16, 2016. A blend of Hawks View, Muirfield and Shaw Mountain Vineyards. Clones 667, 777 and Wädenswil, both rootstock and own-rooted vines. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Aromas of cherry, underbrush and oak develop over time in the glass. More expressive on the palate, with modest flavors of boysenberry and Hoison sauce. Simple and pleasant, with matched tannins and a juicy, fruit-driven finish. Score: 87. 2014 Siduri Muirfield Vineyard Willamette Valley Oregon Pinot Noir 14.2% alc., pH 3.54, TA 0.60, 143 cases, $50, screwcap. Released October 16, 2016. Clones 113, 114, 115 and Wädenswil, own-rooted vines. · Moderately light reddish purple color in the glass. A straight forward, simple wine with very shy aromas of cherry and red berry echoed on the light to mid weight palate. 2012 Siduri Muirfield Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 14.1% alc., 211 cases, $42. Release June 2014. · Moderately light reddish purple color in the glass. The nose is inviting with deep aromas of darker cherries and berries, forest floor and savory highlights. Middleweight core of black cherry fruit which is nicely ripened and bright. Fairly bold with a substantial tannic backbone and a juicy finish with hints of citrus and irondriven minerality. About the same the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle.
