Typical whole cluster nose with aromas of cherry, exotic spices, and rose petal. Striking flavors of fresh cherry and strawberry in a mid weight style with a touch of anise. 2013 White Rose Estate Anderson Family Vineyard Dundee Hills Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 12.9% alc., $95 (Club members priority). 100% whole cluster fermentation. Aged in French oak barrels, 17% new. · Moderately light cherry red color in the glass. Inviting perfume of macerated cherries, baking spices and red rose petals. There is great purity of cherry flavor with impressive length and intensity on the finish. The texture is like purple satin and the harmony of this wine is notable. Score: 92. 2012 White Rose Estate Winemaker’s Cuvée Dundee Hills Oregon Pinot Noir A blend of four vineyards including White Rose and Anderson. 85% whole cluster. · Light cherry red color in the glass. The nose demands attention with hi-tone aromas of dried rose petal, pine sap, spice and cherry. Light to mid weight in style and quite elegant, with a spiced cherry core framed by fine grain tannins. 2012 White Rose Estate “The Neo-Classical Objective” Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 13.6% alc., 428 cases, $80. Fall release. After meticulously tasting barrel samples blind before bottling, only vineyards that meet the neo-classical objective for a given vintage are selected for this blend. White Rose Vineyard (11%), Vista Hills Vineyard (11%), Anderson Family Vineyard (17%), Guillen Vineyard (28%), Lia’s Vineyard (22%), and Luciole Vineyard (11%). Pommard, Wädenswil, 777 and 115. Harvest Oct 11-26. 100% whole cluster fermentation. Total skin contact 16-26 days. Aged 16 months in 14% new French oak. · Medium reddish purple hue in the glass. The nose is shy initially, opening slowly to reveal scents of fresh dark berries, spice and cut flowers. Much more elegantly styled with a satisfying core of black raspberry, plum and black cherry flavors expansive on the palate and generating a lengthy, spice-laden finish highlighted by sweet oak and suave tannins. Pommard, Wädenswil, 777 and 115 clones. 100% whole cluster fermentation, 16 to 26-day skin contact, aged 16 months in 14% new French oak barrels. · Moderate reddish purple hue in the glass. Lovely aromas of black cherry, dark red rose petal, toasty oak, and exotic spice. This wine fills the mouth with a suave fruit attack and holds on through a tenacious finish that sports some fine-grain but minimally astringent tannins. The middleweight flavors of black cherry, black raspberry and spice are sparkling and fresh. Significantly more richness than the 2011 version of this wine. 2012 White Rose Estate Anderson Family Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 13.0% alc., pH 3.71, 118 cases, $90. Released. Harvest October 11, yield 1.7 tons per acre. Self-rooted Dijon 115. 100% whole cluster fermentation. 9-day cold soak, 26 days total skin contact, aged 16 months in 10% new French oak. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Voluptuous, persistent aromatic pleasures including black cherry, spice and wilted rose. Boldly concentrated plum and black raspberry flavors are vibrant on the attack, showing numbing intensity as well on the huge finish. The tannins are supportive but not intrusive. 2012 White Rose Estate Anderson Family Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 13.0% alc., pH 3.71, 118 cases, $90. Vineyard is in Chehalem Mountains AVA. Self-rooted Dijon 115. 9-day cold soak, 100% whole cluster fermentation, 26 days total skin contact, aged 16 months in 10% new French oak barrels. · Moderately dark reddish purple color in the glass. Aromas of black cherry, dark red rose and cardamom spice lead to a mid weight + palate of dark stone fruits embellished with delicious spice. The wine is long and silky in the mouth and finishes with spectacular intensity with the fruit returning for several encores. The flavor is eye-opening and the texture is intriguing. 2011 J.K. Carrier Anderson Family Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 12.5% alc., pH 3.78, 98 cases, $65. Sourced from dry-farmed, 21-year-old Dijon 115 clone, some of the oldest Dijon clone Pinot Noir in Oregon. Small lot wild yeast fermentation, aged 19 months in one new, one one-year, one two-year and one older French oak barrel. Bottled unfined and unfiltered in April 2013. · Moderate garnet color in the glass. The nose lacks in fruit but makes up for it in appealing aromas of tea leaves, dried herbs and smoky oak. Tasty light to mid weight array of dark red cherry and berry flavors with a subtle herbaceous riff in the background. Polished with good integration of tannins and a lean, but refreshing finish. 2011 White Rose Estate Anderson Family Vineyard Dundee Hills Oregon Pinot Noir 13.0% alc., 141 cases, $80. Self-rooted Dijon clone 115 planted in 1991 in Jory soil. Harvested October 28, 2011. Fermented 100% whole cluster. 3 days pre-fermentation maceration, total skin contact 23 days. Aged 16 months in 8% new French oak barrels. · Moderately light reddish-purple color in the glass. The nose opens slowly to reveal brilliant aromas of black cherry, whole cluster spice, rose petal and wine cave. Clean and pure on the palate with generous flavors of earthy cherry and strawberry with complimentary whole cluster spice. This wine has the most bold and muscular tannins of the 2011 wines tasted. 2005 Grochau Cellars Anderson Family Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 13.8% alc., 25 cases, $35. The Anderson Family vineyard is planted to Dijon clone 667 in the Yamhill-Carlton District. · Prominent oak char that runs through the wine from start to finish. Big in the mouth, the plush dark berry fruit has an appealing earthiness. The wine possess fine-grained tannins and a clean finish.
