Release August 2018. Old Wädenswil vines. Owners have farmed this vineyard for over 30 years. Hen and chick at Big Table Farm on the label. · Moderately light garnet color in the glass. This is a striking wine of uncommon excellence from the get-go. Perfumed with scents of black cherry, plump purple grape, fertile earth and spice. Glamorous and sexy in a light to mid weight style offering flavors of cherry and raspberry that make love to the palate. Sleek and lacy, with suave tannins, a deft touch of oak and a finish with both good tension and length. Still superb when tasted the following day from a previously opened bottle. 2014 Big Table Farm Sunnyside Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 13.7% alc., 348 cases, $48. Label shows roosterdrawn by Clare. This vineyard was planted in 1971. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. · Moderate reddish purple hue in the glass. Shy aromas of black cherry and apple fritter. A middleweight fruit-driven wine with plenty of black cherry and black raspberry flavor accented with savory herbs. Noticeable but not intrusive tannins, with a comforting texture and a modestly long but vibrant finish. This wine grows on you over time in the glass. Score: 92. 2013 Big Table Farm Sunnyside Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 11.5% alc., 211 cases, $48. 10 acres south of Salem planted to Wädenswil and 777 clones. Harvested before the September rains. Whole cluster fermented 777 only. Unfined and unfiltered. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Aromas of black cherry, blueberry and sous-bois lead to a vivacious core of assorted dark red, blue and purple fruits accented with notes of smoky oak, dark chocolate and mulch. 2012 Big Table Farm Sunnyside Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 14.1% alc., 230 cases, $48. The owners of this vineyard have tended it for over 30 years. · Moderate reddish purple hue in the glass. Appealing initially, with bright aromas of berry jam, spice and subtle smoky oak, picking up appeal over time in the glass. A mid weight, glorious combination of plum and boysenberry fruits with a riff of smoke and anise. The fruit is ripe but not over ripe and definitely makes a statement. The texture is silky, the tannins are reserved, and the finish offers a good cut of citrus-driven acidity. This wine could use a little more time in bottle for the smoky oak to fully integrate. 2011 Big Table Farm Sunnyside Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 12.5% alc., 143 cases, $45. Inaugural vintage from this vineyard. · Moderately light reddish-purple color in the glass. Demure aromas and flavors featuring raspberry, dark cherry, white pepper, iron and a hint of smoky oak. Soft and dry in the mouth with a tangy cherry finish featuring zippy acidity. 2006 Amity Vineyards Sunnyside Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 14.5% alc., 203 cases, $40.The Sunnyside Vineyard was planted in 1970 and is LIVE certified. The owners are Tom and Lucy Wisniewski. Fruit from this vineyard been a part of the reserve Pinot Noir at Amity in the past. Aged 10 months in oak. · Beautifully weighted and composed with generous flavors of fresh berries including cranberry, and cherries. Floral and fruity in the nose and silky in the mouth.
