2016 Burt Street Cellars Stony Point Vineyard Petaluma Gap Pinot Noir

14.1% alc., 150 cases, $45. Eastfacing, hilltop vineyard situated above the fog line. Soils are Goldridge loam and adobe clay. · Dark garnet color in the glass. Aromas and flavors veer to the ripe side in this middleweight wine. The nose offers scents of black cherry, blackberry, prune and terra-cotta. Luscious flavors of black cherry, blueberry, blackberry and spice fill the mouth. Flashy and bombastic, with integrated tannins, juicy acidity and some finishing length. 2010 James Family Cellars Estate Grown Stony Point Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

14.3% alc., $36. Best of Class and Double Gold 2012 Sonoma County Harvest Fair. · Medium reddish-purple color in the glass. Appealing aromas of ripe Bing cherry pie glaze, cola and spice with oak that becomes more noticeable over time. Middleweight core of ripe cherries with hints of nutmeg and cherry cola, framed by silky, balanced tannins. A cherry bombast that has a little more oak topcoat than I prefer, but as indicated by the exalted competition award, this wine will definitely find fans. Good. 14.3% alc., $40. A family owned boutique winery owned by Jeff and Judy Jones in Sebastopol. Gold Medal winner at the 2008 Sonoma County Harvest Fair. · Light crimson robe. Long and persistent scents of black cherries, violets, oak and baking spice. Elegantly styled cherry core wrapped in savory herbs. The finish leaves a leafy and oaky impression.
