2016 Sojourn Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 14.4% alc., pH 3.70, TA 0.60, 2,900 cases, $39. A blend of eight vineyards in the Sonoma Coast ranging from Occidental to the Petaluma Gap. Clones 115, “828,” 667, Pommard and Wädenswil 2A. 100% de-stemmed, open-top fermentation, native yeast, aged in French oak barrels, 50% new. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. · Moderately dark garnet color in the glass. Very giving aromas of Bing cherry, blueberry, spice and cigar box. Good weight and juiciness in a forward style featuring a luscious for of black cherry and spice flavors. Nicely composed with integrated moderately toasty oak and a solid finish. A deft AVA offering. Score: 90. Reviewed January 6, 2018
