2000 Talisman Carneros Pinot Noir

13.5% alc., 280 cases. The grapes were sourced from two different blocks of the Truchard Vineyard. · This wine has more body and structure than the Russian River Valley bottling of the same vintage. The nose is appealing with its sweet, ripe fruit and earthy spices. The red and black fruits are highlighted by earth and underbrush. Notable tannins still persist on the oaky finish. Tasted the next day from an opened and re-corked bottle, the finish had noticeably softened and the tannins were beautifully integrated. Reviewed May 1, 2006
