1997 Talisman Carneros Pinot Noir

13.0% alc., 267 cases. · Astonishingly fresh and alive upon opening. I had to keep looking at the label to be sure this wine was from the 1997 vintage. Great body, full mouth feel, nice acid backbone and everything in balance. The nose offers a hint of port and cinnamon toast. Cranberries, rose petal, herbs, anise and mint flavors are in profusion. This beauty lost a little intensity over time in the glass - forget the foreplay and drink up. Reviewed May 1, 2006
