2012 Shane The Charm Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

14.3% alc., $42. Primarily sourced from Floodgate Vineyard. Clones 667 and Martini. 20% whole cluster, aged 15 in 20% new French oak. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Lovely nose redolent of fresh Bing cherry and strawberry shortcake. Polished and seductive, with a mid weight core of nicely ripened cherry fruit caressed by modest tannins. A touch of spice and cola adds interest. Tasted later in the day, the wine had further blossomed and sported an engaging, long finish. Score: 91. Reviewed July 19, 2014
