Released January 2015. Sourced from Tina Maria Vineyard and nearby Marty’s Vineyard of Dutton Ranch. Harvest Brix 24.4º. Saignéed for concentration, 3-day cold soak, 10-day fermentation in open-top bins, basket pressed, and aged 12 months in French oak barrels, 40% new. · Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Pleasant aromas of black cherry and spice lead to a mid weight plus wine featuring vibrant flavors of dark red and black berries and Damsel plum. A slight riff of earthiness and oak seasoning is complimentary. More uplifting and fresh than the Sonoma Coast bottling with some intensity on the clean finish. Score: 89. 2012 Anaba Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 14.3% alc., pH 3.51, TA 0.56, 1,576 cases, $34. A blend of select lots from Roberts Road, Dutton Ranch, Las Brisas and Tina Marie vineyards. Clones 115, Pommard, 667 and 777. Harvest Brix 22.9º-24.2º. 12% whole cluster, 4 to 6-day cold soak, native fermentation, basket pressed when dry. Aged 11 months sur lees in 40% new French oak. · Moderately light reddish purple hue in the glass. Pleasant aromas of cherry, pomegranate and toasty oak which gain in appeal over time in the glass. Full-bodied, rich flavors of cherry, blueberry, and raspberry underpinned with spicy oak. The balance of sinewy tannins and acidity is spot on and there is some finishing length. 2012 Roadhouse Winery Green Valley Pinot Noir 14.4% alc., pH 3.60, TA 0.57, 175 cases, $49. Sourced from Tina Marie Vineyard featuring clones 115, 667 and 777 planted in 2005. 100% de-stemmed, 5-day cold soak, inoculated primary and secondary fermentations, aged 20 months in 100% French oak barrels, 20% of which were new. Unfined and unfiltered. · Light red cherry color in the glass. Lovely, sexy aromas of red cherry, red raspberry, rose petal and sandalwood. Very charming, with vibrant iced cherry fruit flavor and mild fine-grain tannins. Bright and satisfying on the attack, with an impressive breadth of hi-tone cherry fruit on the finish. Score: 91. 2011 C. Donatiello Winery Tina Marie Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 13.7% alc., pH 3.44, TA 0.62, 126 cases, $55. Aged 10 months in 35% new French oak barrels. · Moderately dark reddish-purple color in the glass. The nose offers enticing aromas of black cherry, rose petals, tea, forest floor and cedary oak. The tasty essence of fresh Bing cherries has a hint of spice and conifer in the background. The tannins are supple and the wine sports a citrus-infused, sweet cherry finish. Score: 88. 2009 Anthill Farms Tina Marie Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 14.1% alc., $50. From a site in the Green Valley farmed by Ron Black and Stephen Bessone. · Moderately deep reddish-purple color in the glass. Opens with appealing raspberry on jam aromas, fading in the glass. This Green Valley vineyard is farmed by Ron Black and Stephen Bessone. · Aromas of green garden, green olive, and wild berries. 2008 Fulcrum Wines Tina Marie Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 14.3% alc., 125 cases, $48, release date May 10, 2010. Clones 115, 667 and 777. Aged 14 months in 40% new French oak and 6 months in bottle. · Effusive aromatics featuring mixed berry jam and exotic spices. Creamy in the mouth with discreetly concentrated core of black cherries, raspberries, loamy earth and a touch of citrus lift on the refreshing finish. 2007 Anthill Farms Tina Marie Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 14.2% alc., $46. From a Green Valley vineyard farmed by Ron Black and Stephen Bessone. Yields were two tons per acre. · This wine sports the ripest fruit in the lineup. Alluring perfume of black cherries, root beer, vanillin and subtle spices. Rich and well ripened Bing cherry fruit with a touch of cola and oak. Elegant and harmonious with gossamer tannins and a mild grip of citrus peel on the finish. 2006 Barnett Vineyard Tina Marie Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 14.4% alc., 1180 cases, $34. Fiona and Hal Barnett founded their family estate on the top of Spring Mountain in 1983. This wine is sourced from the Green Valley sub-appellation of the Russian River Valley and is composed of Dijon clones. The winemaker is David Tate. · Medium reddish-purple color. Aromas of cherries, Asian spice and oak char. Cherry-driven flavors that are moderately mouth-filling. A lovely wine with charm but showing a bit too much oak for my taste. Tina Maria Vineyard is located in the Green Valley sub-AVA of the Russian River Valley and is planted to Dijon clones. The winemaker is David Tate. · Medium reddish-purple color. A lovely wine that is cherry-driven with prominent oak from beginning to end. Moderately mouth filling and nicely balanced, but a bit too much oak char for my taste. Tina Maria Vineyard is in Green Valley, a sub AVA of the Russian River Valley, planted entirely to Dijon clones. · Complex aromatics dominated by blackberries and black raspberries complimented by herbs, hay, oak and barnyard. Juicy and succulent dark fruits with an oak sidecar running throughout. Rich and smooth in texture with integrated tannins. Well-crafted, easy to like and very approachable. 2006 Anthill Farms Tina Marie Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 14.1% alc., $44. · Complex aromatics featuring wild strawberries, ripe cherries, wildflowers, black olive and exotic woods. Full-on attack of cherries on the palate with earthy accents. Nicely balanced and soft in the mouth, this wine goes down easy. Not a blockbuster, but quite satisfying. 2005 Anthill Farms Tina Maria Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 14.5% alc.. This vineyard is located in the cool Green Valley sub-appellation of the Russian River Valley and is farmed by Ron Black and Stephan Bessone. · Flamboyant scents of confected cherries, violets and dried herbs that just wont quit. Herbdusted deep red fruits with a hint of oak, a zippy acid backbone and a tangerine peel finish. Deeper and more structured than the 2006 version.
