Tony Lombardi, while working in 2013 as the Director of Brand Management & Public Relations at Kosta Browne Winery, launched his own eponymous label producing small lots of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Sonoma County vineyards. The first vintage was 2012. In May 2015 he left Kosta Browne to spend more time on his Lombardi wines and other wine projects.
The winemaker is Cabell Coursey.
The winery is not open to the public and does not have a tasting room.
The wines are sold through a mailing list.

Moderate garnet color in the glass. Delightful aromas of dark fruits,
rose petal and peppery herbs. Judicious core of purple and black berry flavors with a soft oak shadow. Very
soothing, polished texture, with modest tannins and a generous, fruit-driven finish.

777. Aged 11 months in French oak barrels, once-used.

Moderately dark garnet color in the glass. A little volatile acidity
on the nose blows off over time. Aromas of blackberry compote
and bittersweet chocolate. Luscious black cherry and black
raspberry fruits have a slight confected tone. Bold in style with a
fat and silken fruit richness that cloaks the structure so the
texture is sleek.

Moderate garnet color in the
glass. Frankly, the fruit in this wine is way too ripe. Overripeness is the point where dark berry flavors are
transformed to flavors of dark chocolate and raisin. Beyond that, this wine is out of sorts with noticeable oak in
the background, an unpleasant sweetness, and some drying astringency on the finish.

Moderate garnet color in the glass. Aromas of black cherry, ripe strawberry and oak lead to a
light to mid-weight styled wine with flavors of black cherry cola and black raspberry. Somewhat elegant with
good balance but lacking a bit of mid-palate generosity. The bright, quenching finish is very satisfying.

$68. This 9-acre vineyard is steeply sloped and sits at 1,100’ elevation on Sonoma Mountain. Swan and
Pommard clones. Aged 14 months in French oak barrels, 50% new.

Moderately dark garnet color in the glass.
Reserved but pleasing aromas of blackest cherry, blackberry, spice and toasty oak. A mid-weight plus boldness
with layers of boysenberry and blackberry fruit flavors framed by some noticeable but not aggressive tannins.
Oak is well-integrated on the palate. A cohesive wine with saturating fruit on the finish.

Moderate golden yellow color in the
glass. Heaven-sent aromas of buttery lemon, yellow flower blossom,
crème brûlée, and a hint of toast. A voluptuous Chardonnay, with a fullthrottle
complement of well-ripened melon, lemon and pineapple
flavors backed by toasty oak. There is enough bracing acidity to bring
the package into balance but you won’t find “minerality” in this wine.
This is an unapologetic mingling of mature fruit and oak, that finishes awash in lemon-pineapple goodness.

Moderately light garnet color in the glass. Nicely perfumed with aromas of black
cherry, dark red berry, baking spice and graham. Luscious in the mouth, with waves of well-ripened black
cherry fruit accented by baking spices and toast. A fruit-driven, unapologetic wine with modest tannins and an
ebullient finish. The best Pinot Noir from this producer to date.

Boudreaux and Orsi vineyards. Barrel fermented and aged 15 months in neutral French oak barrels.

grapefruit and straw. Robust flavors of lemon-lime, yellow peach, creme brûlée and vanilla. Very slight tannins,
with a soft texture. The higher alcohol is folded in nicely.

a bit shallow, the fruit is slightly confected, and the cherry-driven finish is slightly tart.

Moderately dark garnet color in the glass. The nose is foresty upon opening (earth, wood and mulch aromas),
with very pleasant aromas of black cherry fruit and spice arriving over time in the glass. Silky smooth in the
mouth, with a sumptuous core of tasty blueberry and blackberry fruits that linger with intent on the finish.
Discreetly concentrated, with suave tannins and balanced acidity. Considerably more appealing when tasted
the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle.

purple color in the glass. The brooding nose offers very ripe fruits including black cherry with a note of wine
cave and a hint of volatile acidity. Mid weight in style, with sweet black cherry and blackberry fruit flavors
accented with spice and lacy oak. The wine finishes with a puckering, sweet and sour finish indicating possible
acidulation.

bottle. A hint of flinty reduction upon opening transforms to pleasing aromas of lemon oil, kiwi and vanilla. The
flavors of lemon-lime, apple and peach are vivid with oak playing a complimentary seasoning role. Soft and
slightly viscous in the mouth, with an uplifting and cleansing finish.

in neutral French oak barrels.

Moderately light reddish purple color in the
glass. The slightest VA blows off upon opening revealing an inviting
aromatic bouquet of black cherry, blueberry, exotic spice, fennel and
sweet oak. Juicy and crisp with middleweight flavors of black cherry and
boysenberry and subtle oak-driven notes of molasses, vanilla and nuts.
The tannins are nicely merged making for current drinking, and the fruity
finish offers some length. When sampled the following day from a
previously opened and re-corked bottle, the nose was really alive and the
solid core of noble Bing cherry fruit was very inviting.
