Peter Cargasacchi represents the fifth generation of his family in California, but the first born in the New World. Peter Angelo Cargasacchi and wife Julia Manucla Cargasacchi farm two vineyards that are 5 miles apart, the 16-acre Cargasacchi Vineyard (Sta. Rita Hills) and the 15-acre Cargasacchi-Jalama Vineyard (Santa Barbara). Cargassachi's family planted the first vines at Cargassachi Vineyard in 1998, upon urgings from Richard Sanford who recommended the site for a vineyard. A third 14-acre vineyard is planned in hills at the eastern edge of the Cargasacchi Vineyard. Peter is highly respected by his peers as a conscientious, innovative and committed winegrower.

Ten wineries purchase about ninety percent of Cargasacchi's grapes. Peter makes wine under both the Point Concepcion label (lighter, early drinking, mainly Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Syrah from estate and purchased grapes) and the Cargasacchi label (more serious, age worthy, Pinot Noir from estate grapes). The roots of Cargasacchi winemaking philosophy are found in the Italian traditional pairing of food and wine at mealtime. Both Peter's and Julia's families have been making wine for consumption with food for many generations.

The wines are sold primarily through a mailing list with limited retail distribution.
