Released September 2017. Vineyard offers a combination of Pommard and Martini clones located in one of the cooler spots in the Russian River Valley. · Moderate garnet color in the glass. Lovely aromas of Bing cherry, spice, rose petal and BBQ rub. Very tasty core of fresh and vivid cherry fruit along with a supportive tannic backbone and a very sensual mouthfeel. 2013 Siduri Lingenfelder Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 14.3% alc., 249 cases, $49, screwcap. · Moderate reddish purple hue in the glass. Perfumed with aromas of black cherry, earthy flora and mushroom. Sensual and smooth on the palate with mid weight plus flavors of dark cherry, boysenberry, cola and dark chocolate. I was impressed by the seamless character of this wine. The finish had picked up intensity and length when tasted the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle. Score: 91. 2012 Siduri Lingenfelder Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 14.3% alc., 211 cases, $48. Release June 2014. · Medium reddish purple color in the glass. Very aromatic, with expressive scents of cherry, nutmeg and rose petal. Good attack and finish with plenty of sappy black cherry fruit. Juicy and refined, but shouldering too much oak at present. 2012 Skewis Lingenfelder Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 13.8% alc., pH 3.60, 150 cases, $50. Released September 8, 2014. From a 3-acre vineyard west of the town of Fulton. Huichica loam soil typical of this area. Vineyard planted in 1996 and grafted to the Martini clone. Harvest Brix 23.3º. Aged 18 months in 25% new French oak barrels. · Moderately light ruby color in the glass. Very shy nose with demure aromas of cherry sous-bois and subtle oak. Juicy, mid weight flavors of ripe strawberries, dark cherries and black raspberries. The finish is bright and pleasingly long. 2011 Benovia Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 14.1% alc., 1,600 cases, $38. 60% Martaella Vineyard blended with grapes from Martinelli, Lingenfelder, Dutton and Petersen vineyards. Multiple heirloom and Dijon clones. Aged 16 months in 40% new French oak barrels. · Delicate but pleasing aromas of red cherry, baking spice and rose petal lead to lighter weight flavors of cherry, spice, cola and tarry oak. Score: 86. 2007 Brogan Cellars Lingenfelder Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 14.3% alc., $65. · Moderately dark reddish purple color. Reticent aromas of dark fruits and oak. A full-on palate of mixed berry fruits with plenty of tannin and a cola and citrus note in the background. A husky wine with an impressive core of fruit that needs time for integration of the tannin. 2006 Brogan Cellars Lingenfelder Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 15.3% alc., $60. From a Pommard clone block. Aged 11 months in 50% new French oak barrels. · Moderate reddish-purple color in the glass. Opens slowly in the glass, revealing intense crushed berry, black cherry and dark chocolate aromas. Rich and toasty ripe dark fruits fill the mouth with pleasure. The tannins have melded and the wine is all silk and satin. 2005 Brogan Cellars Lingenfelder Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 13.9% alc., $55. · An earthy, savory wine with plenty of tasty black raspberry and black plum fruit and a dash of allspice and oak reflecting its Pommard and Martini clonal origins. The mouthfeel is rich and pleasing with well defined tannins holding the fruit in check. A seamless wine that has staying power for over an hour in the glass. Very good (+). 2004 Brogan Cellars Lingenfelder Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 14.8% alc., 75 cases, $48. Aged 11 months in 50% new French oak barrels. Blend of Pommard and Martini blocks. · Moderate reddishpurple color in the glass. The nose is highlighted by purple fruits with a dash of soy, tea and purple roses. Very tasty big-boned core of cassis and black plum flavors with oak playing a supporting role. Nicely composed with a smooth texture, flannel tannins and a big fruit-driven finish.
